What is a Tuning Session?
Your energy field can contain clusters or trouble spots the same way your muscles develop tightness or knots. Just as a massage therapist “works out the knots” in your muscles, a tuning session uses tuning forks or vibrational bowls to sooth the “knots” and release trapped energy. This energy is then returned to your central nervous system via the chakras so the energy can be reintegrated and used in a more beneficial way. By placing tuning forks and bowls on and around your body, we work together to unite the frequencies in your electromagnetic field.
This method applies to physical un-ease as well as emotional pockets and stress patterns. Tuning sessions address body and spirit simultaneously in order to recalibrate them both toward better functioning.
What happens in a session?
A session begins with a discussion of your current needs or concerns.
During each session, you will lie on a table in a peaceful quiet environment. We begin with an opening sequence in which weighted vibrating tuning forks are placed at certain points along your body, including a grounding position just below your feet.
Throughout the session, you may feel light bodily contact with the forks or bowls; however, during other sessions, we may work in the energy field around your body and the forks or bowls might never touch your body.
Many of the forks make a sound, but some are silent as they carry their frequency through vibration. These silent forks are called “weighted forks” and they are placed directly onto your body, with the stem of the fork touching you. You feel the gentle vibration of the fork, and the therapeutic effect comes from the frequency of the vibration. The room is silent and you may hear the sounds of the forks. The vibrational bowls emit a beautiful sound and a gentle and pleasurable vibration.
What does a session feel like?
Each session feels unique to each client. Many people describe feeling tingling, stomach gurgling, and the sensation of their muscles relaxing. Some clients experience an emotional release, which might be accompanied by tears or laughter or another outburst. Often people drop into a half-awake state where they feel relaxed and dreamy and far away.
What will I feel like after a session?
95% of my clients describe feel lighter, calmer, and/or more relaxed. 24 hours after a session, my clients often report better focus and find it easier to wind down or relax more deeply into resting.
Who is this for?
This method is for anyone of any age, with the following exceptions: if you are pregnant, or have an acute medical condition such as cancer.
If you participate in therapy or coaching, undergo acupuncture, receive regular massages, or work with a chiropractor, tuning sessions are an excellent complimentary modality. Because tuning forks or bowls work with the energy field of the entire body, a session can help support and further the results you receive from other treatments, such as helping to sustain a chiropractic adjustment.
What types of sessions do you offer?
Meridian Tuning - Meridian Tuning sessions involve using weighted forks to balance and flush the main meridian lines in the body. By applying vibrational frequencies directly to the body, this session balances the left and right meridians (Yin and Yang energies). Forks are applied to the meridian lines, as well as to specific energetic points throughout the body. Clients report experiencing deep relaxation and calm. This is excellent for injury recovery, situational stress, to support lymphatic irrigation, or any other time you feel “out of balance.”
Biofield Tuning™ - Biofield Tuning™ sessions use both unweighted and weighted forks on and around the body to cohere dissonant frequencies in the energy field. By using tuning fork frequencies near or on the body, patterns of stress, unwanted or troublesome behaviors, and emotions can be “smoothed” over. The frequencies are united and the energy which was “stuck” can be returned to the appropriate area and used in a more beneficial way. Clients report feeling “lighter,” being very relaxed, having more focus, experiencing reduced stress levels, and enjoying improved sleep, among other benefits. This method is useful for a wide range of individual needs and is cumulative in its results. While benefits can emerge after only one session, multiple sessions (usually 3-5) can have a profound impact on overall wellness.
